Yesterday, I slept for almost 18 hours. It was a very odd day. I'm not sure why I was so tired, but I took 4 naps, then went to bed around 11pm and slept soundly until 7:30 this morning.
Here are some of the possible reasons for my sleeping beauty impersonation:
1. Caffeine catch up. I have been on a pretty fast pace this last week, fueled by caffeine (Red Bull and Light Roast coffee).
2. Stress. Things at my office have been stressful. My coworker may be leaving and I have a new undetermined boss as of Dec. 31st. Top that with home and school stuff, and I'm a little worked up.
3. Car sickness. I rode over 8 hours in a Chevy Cobalt in a 27 hour tour through Iowa. I generally sleep on road trips to cope with car sickness, however, since it was a business trip with a Product Manager, I fought sleep with #1. Possibly, the car sickness caught up with me.
4. Weird physical system reset. I've felt a bit out of sorts lately, and the sleepy day seems to have reset my system. I feel much better.
5. I'm incredibly lazy.
I was watching Jake play GH: World Tour, and waiting for Chipotle to be delivered. That's when it dawned on me: October is over.
The month flew by, and while I'm a little bummed to see fall come to a close, I am happy that the Halloween madness and sucktober are over. Also, I'm looking forward to election day and the end to all the political adds.
Goodbye October, hellOOOO November.
Why do you make some purchases online and others in-store? What ultimately prompts you to go in-store?
Sponsored by Best Buy.![]()
I prefer to shop online, but can't justify paying shipping for consumable products like paper towels and cat litter. Also, medium light roast coffee with cinnamon and splenda doesn't ship well.
I used to order groceries through Simon Delivers, but that was more for the cute delivery guy than the convenience.
What first attracted you to the person you're currently dating?
He was attracted to me because of my "big jugs". Romantic, I know.
I was attracted to him because he made me laugh, and he liked my jugs.
If you could change your name, what would you change it to?
Eva Bierschbach.
While cleaning Maddy's room this evening, I took a peek at Crash to make sure he had water and food. Sadly, he doesn't need either. We was belly up just outside his cuddy hole in the hamster habitat. Crash kicked the bucket.
While the kids were a little sad, and Maddy didn't exactly understand how this happened or why, we're all a little relieved. Crash was a good "trainer" pet. Getting us prepped for the responsibilities of kittens, but not a long term pet, and certainly not a pet I would consider actually petting. He was cute and fun to watch, but deep down we all knew he was a rodent and a bit on the ishy side.
So, farewell little Crash. We've enjoyed having you. May your next life bring bigger sunflower seeds and a happy she-Crash to share it with.
New Yorkers are sad to say goodbye to their much-loved Yankee Stadium. What would you miss most from your home town if it were torn down?
I'd miss my home town!?!?
How do you know when a relationship has run its course and it's time to call it quits?
HA!!!
Uh...
yeah...
Let's see.
I guess my opinion would be when one of you are dead.
One of may favorite songs is Norah Jones' "Seven Years". I remember listening to it over and over again in my apartment when the kids were gone or when I was trying to get to sleep and feeling a little lonely. It just gave me a warm feeling. Like a musical hug. Surprisingly, I never really noticed that the name was "Seven Years". It just was always "the little girl with nothing wrong" song.
Tonight I had a mini-melt down. I nearly missed a due date of an assignment, and I really don't like feeling unplanned or out of sync. It was rough, but I made it in time and am pretty sure I did OK. (I'll know in 3 minutes-gotta love auto correct assignments.)
After submitting my responses, I decided to give myself a little iPod treat. I turned off the white-noise, and popped over to shuffle. Wouldn't you know it, Ms. Jones was first to congratulate me! I glanced down, and was shocked to see the title. "Gosh, I should've comprehended that before!" I thought. 7 years is a big deal to me. I work in 7 year cycles. Always have. Almost every 7 years has been a turning point in my life (I started counting at 3). I was so surprised that I didn't notice the song title that I had to write about it.
